Tucked into a residential pocket of Asakusa 5-chome, Hide Sushi is a neighborhood sushi spot where the owner warmly shares the day's fresh catches and recommendations once you are seated. Paying close attention to any seafood preferences or dislikes, the chef shapes each piece of nigiri at a comfortable pace tailored to your appetite.
The main nigiri selection includes rich cuts of regular and fatty tuna, amberjack, shrimp, conger eel, tamagoyaki omelet, and nicely cured kohada (gizzard shad). Alongside the sushi, a selection of small plates and side dishes is offered—including well-regarded simmered sablefish—making it easy to settle in over a beer or sake between rounds of nigiri.
The compact interior is centered around high-backed counter seats, creating a calm, unhurried atmosphere that feels welcoming for solo diners. The restaurant operates Tuesday through Sunday from 17:00 to 21:00, and reservations are accepted.
